Code Geass’ Story Continues With A Movie Sequel

We all remember the ending of the 2006 hit anime Code Geass that moved us to tears, don’t we? The final strike, the anguish screams, and that infamous epilogue sequence – it was certainly a tear-jerking experience! But, we never had a definite answer for one thing. Is Lelouch still alive?

After roughly ten years of no further news of a sequel, Sunrise is finally back with a new movie for all of us Code Geass fans! It is an entirely new story taking place several years after Lelouch vi Britannia’s “Zero Requiem” plan and will serve as the finale of the overall series. The movie is directed by Goro Taniguchi and will feature the return of many of the series’ staff.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection is scheduled for a release in Japan on February 9 while Funimation has also confirmed that the film will be screened in the United States sometime in 2009.

Will our questions be answered? Do you think Lelouch is alive or not? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
